Make your own castile soap!

I've been wanting to do this for a while. Between being a primarily stay at home mom and working part-time as much as I can from home, "fun" projects end up taking a back seat. One way I have been justifying some fun projects is by making them somehow practical- enter a soap making project. I thought well, I tend to buy all natural handmade soap and with the holidays coming, they could be presents for friends and neighbors, if they come out terrible, we use soap so it won't go to waste.

So I've taken to the internet to hunt for some recipes. I found one from one of my favorite all-natural soap suppliers, Serendipity Soap Co. They post a version of the very same recipe they use, minus what they use to make them smell so great- that will be up to me and you to create our own scents.

WikiHow's recipe to making your own soap.
TeachSoap recipes for cold process soap in 4.5lb and 6.5lb batches.

I will likely use the recipe from Serendipity Soap Company, as I love their soaps. Even if mine turn out great, I'll still buy from them. If you don't want to make your own, I highly suggest them or another great place to find all natural handmade soaps- Etsy. Oliba Soap, Krug's Eco-Logic, Honey Pie Hives, Simply Scents Soap, and many more.... enjoy!
